TMYS: What was the first paranormal experience that made you believe in the existence of ghosts? Tell me your story.
Rith:
I was always very much eager to know what happens after death. This curiosity intensified when, at the age of 17, I lost my dad. My desire to connect with him grew stronger, and it led me to explore the realm of the paranormal. After proper training and study, I became a part of the Indian Paranormal Society. This journey has been both enlightening and deeply personal, allowing me to seek answers and connect with the unknown.
TMYS: Please describe a particular UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) sighting or encounter that significantly impacted your perception of extra-terrestrial existence.
Rith:
I have not encountered any UFO yet, but after reading numerous UFO sightings news and articles, I am convinced that we are not the only ones in the universe. There could very well be other forms of life out there.
Recently, a significant UFO sighting in India captured my attention. In January 2023, residents of a small village in Rajasthan reported seeing a strange, luminous object hovering in the night sky. The object moved in erratic patterns and emitted a bright, pulsating light. Several villagers managed to capture the event on their mobile phones, and the footage quickly went viral, sparking widespread curiosity and debate.
As a paranormal investigator, this incident intrigued me. The detailed accounts and the video evidence provided compelling material for analysis. While the sighting could have numerous explanations, the possibility of it being an extraterrestrial encounter cannot be dismissed outright. This event, along with many others reported worldwide, strengthens my belief that there is more to our universe than we currently understand.
TMYS: As a paranormal investigator, would you please share a detailed account of a particularly memorable investigation where you felt an unexplained presence? What methods did you use to document and analyze this experience?
Rith:
I was conducting an investigation in a residential location in Mumbai with my team, and it turned out to be a particularly memorable experience. We began with an EVP session (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) to try to communicate with any potential energies present. Initially, my teammate led the conversation, but we weren't getting any responses. I decided to give it a try and started communicating in my native language, Bengali.
Almost immediately, our EMF (Electromagnetic Field) meter and EVP recorder began picking up responses. This sudden activity intrigued us, so we asked the family members if anyone in their family had spoken Bengali. It turned out that the brother’s wife, who had passed away a year ago, was Bengali. This revelation provided a clear context for the responses we were receiving.
While I can't share all the details of the investigation, this experience stood out to me. It highlighted the importance of cultural and linguistic connections in our work and showed how personal and poignant these encounters can be. It was a significant reminder of the unseen connections that continue to influence our lives.
TMYS: What advancements or innovations in technology do you believe will have the most significant impact on future paranormal investigations?
Rith:
Advancements in technology are continuously reshaping the field of paranormal investigations. Here are some innovations that I believe will have the most significant impact on future investigations:-
Enhanced EVP Recorders: Future EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) recorders with higher sensitivity and noise-cancellation capabilities will enable us to capture clearer and more definitive audio evidence of potential paranormal activity.
3D Mapping and LIDAR Technology: These technologies can create detailed, three-dimensional maps of investigation sites, allowing us to detect anomalies and track movements that are not visible to the naked eye.
Infrared and Thermal Imaging Cameras: Improved infrared and thermal imaging cameras will provide more precise and higher-resolution images, helping us to identify temperature fluctuations and potential apparitions more accurately.
AI and Machine Learning: The use of AI and machine learning algorithms to analyze large volumes of data collected during investigations can help identify patterns and correlations that humans might miss. This can lead to more reliable and insightful conclusions.
Drones: Equipped with advanced sensors and cameras, drones can access and monitor areas that are difficult for investigators to reach, providing a new perspective on potential paranormal activity.
Wearable Sensors: Wearable devices that monitor and record physiological responses (such as heart rate, temperature, and electrodermal activity) of investigators can provide additional data on how the environment and potential paranormal phenomena affect humans.

TMYS: In relation to your book How to Become a Paranormal Investigator: A Comprehensive Guide to Ghost Hunting, what are the initial signs that tell a paranormal investigator that the area is haunted? Even if a person is not an investigator, is there something one must or must not do if he or she suspects poltergeist activities around?
Rith:
As a paranormal investigator, some key indicators include unexplained noises such as footsteps or voices, sudden drops in temperature, apparitions, strange odours, electrical disturbances, physical sensations like being touched, object movement, and unusual animal behaviour. These signs can help determine whether an area might be experiencing paranormal activity.
If you suspect poltergeist activity, there are important steps to take and things to avoid. Stay calm and document the events in detail, checking for any logical explanations. Seek professional help from a reputable paranormal investigation team. Avoid engaging with the entity, or provoking the spirit, as these actions can intensify the activity and potentially lead to harm. Understanding these signs and responding appropriately can help manage the situation until professional assistance can be obtained.
TMYS: With reference to your book How to Become a Paranormal Investigator: A Comprehensive Guide to Ghost Hunting, how do you perceive the intelligence of the paranormal? Do they really have extra powers or is it evolved intelligence that processes the possibilities of the surroundings faster?
Rith:
As a paranormal investigator, I perceive the intelligence of paranormal entities as a complex and evolved form of awareness. They often exhibit behaviours that suggest they can process and interact with their surroundings rapidly and effectively. This intelligence may not necessarily be "extra powers", but rather an advanced state of being that allows them to access abilities or knowledge beyond our understanding. For example, their ability to move objects, manifest visually or audibly, and influence their environment points to a heightened level of environmental awareness and responsiveness.
In my experience, these entities demonstrate a keen sensitivity to changes and can interact purposefully with the living, suggesting they operate on a different plane of existence. This advanced intelligence allows them to respond to questions during EVP sessions and react to the presence of investigators, making it clear that their awareness and capabilities are far beyond what we typically encounter in the physical world.
TMYS: Have you ever encountered any particularly dangerous or frightening situation during your paranormal investigations that required time to recover from?
Rith:
I haven't encountered any particularly dangerous or frightening situations during my paranormal investigations that required significant time to recover from. However, there are times when the presence of energy is so high that it can be quite draining. After such investigations, I often feel physically and mentally exhausted.
One memorable instance occurred during an investigation in an old boys hostel. The energy in the house was incredibly strong, and throughout the night, our equipment picked up numerous anomalies. By the end of the investigation, I felt completely drained, as if the energy had sapped my own strength. To cope with this, I focus on self-care practices, such as getting plenty of rest, staying hydrated, and grounding myself through meditation and time spent in nature. These practices help me to recharge and restore my energy levels.
TMYS: In the Indian society where superstitious beliefs are prevalent, what are your views on black magic and evil eyes? Have you ever witnessed any of your clients suffering due to black magic?
Rith:
My views on black magic and the evil eye are quite pragmatic. I don't believe in these phenomena. When encountering clients who claim to be suffering from the effects of black magic or the evil eye, my first recommendation is always to seek medical help. Many symptoms attributed to these superstitions can often be explained by medical or psychological conditions, so it's crucial to consult a healthcare professional before rushing to any form of religious or superstitious approach.
TMYS: What misconceptions about ghosts and spirits have you observed in minds of the general public that need to be corrected?
Rith:
As a paranormal investigator, I've observed several misconceptions about ghosts and spirits in the minds of the general public that need to be corrected. One common misconception is that all ghosts are malevolent or evil. In reality, many reported ghostly encounters involve benign or even friendly entities. Another misconception is that spirits only appear in old, abandoned places. However, paranormal activity can occur anywhere, including new buildings and homes. Additionally, people often believe that ghosts are always visible or that they only appear at night. In truth, spirits can manifest in various ways, including through sounds, smells, or sudden changes in temperature, and at any time of day. Correcting these misconceptions can help foster a more nuanced understanding of the paranormal and reduce unnecessary fear and superstition.
