TMYS AWARDS
TMYS AWARDs are our annual attempt to honour the submissions under various projects. The SHORTLISTS for the awards will be declared in advance. There will be voting opportunities for the audience to file their choice and encourage their favourite authors.
The Categories for 2025-26:
1. DR. VASUMATHI KAMINENI AWARD for TMYS Review
FOUR submissions from TMYS Review will be honoured with cash awards of INR 3000/- (USD36) each. This award celebrates the contributions of Dr. Vasumathi Kamineni, a practicing Paediatrician for more than 40 years (now retired) and is being sponsored by her son, Dr. Rajeev Kamineni. Every submission made under TMYS Review per year is eligible and will enter the nominations by default.
2. WRITING TALENT AWARD for TMYS Review
FOUR submissions from the TMYS Review projects will be honoured with specially curated gift hampers - one for each. Every submission made under TMYS Review per year is eligible and will enter the nominations by default.
3. Letters of Excellence for TMYS Review
Four selected contributions per year will be felicitated Dr. Rajeev Kamineni (Author, Academician and Film Producer, based in Australia). Every submission made under TMYS Review per year is eligible and will enter the nominations by default.
3. TMYS Story Project Award for the Best MALE Character
The award includes TWO cash rewards of ₹1500 each. We are looking at 'the new man' in literature who is trying to share life, balancing all adversities and rewards, who does not take advantage of his gender-identity, and does not try to stand tall by torturing the others. Every submission made under the STORY PROJECT per year is eligible and will enter the nominations by default.
4. TMYS Story Project Award for the Best Story
FOUR gift hampers for wonderful storytelling in a fiction or non-fiction submission. Every submission made under the STORY PROJECT per year is eligible and will enter the nominations by default.
The Categories for 2023-24:
1. UVIC Award for TMYS Review
Includes FOUR cash rewards of ₹3000 each awarded by the Global South Colloquium, University of Victoria. Every submission made under TMYS Review projects per year is eligible. Each submission enters the nominations by default.
2. Rupa Award for TMYS Review
Includes FOUR gift hampers to be awarded by Rupa Publications. Every submission made under TMYS Review projects of the year is eligible and enters the nominations by default.
3. TMYS Writing Award for Storytellers
The award includes THREE cash rewards of ₹1500 each. Every submission made under the 2 STORY PROJECTS per year is eligible and enters the nominations by default.
4. The Best Woman Character Award
Includes FOUR gift hampers from Pan Macmillan India, for the most intriguing woman character in a fiction or non-fiction submission. Every submission made under the 2 STORY PROJECTS per year is eligible and enters the nominations by default.
Please Note:
***The decisions of the awards will be merit-based, the submissions will be evaluated through a blind-review process.
***Audience voting will hold equal merits along with the internal judgements of the Awards team.
***The decisions of the Awards team will be final and cannot be challenged.
***We request all writer-friends to have a good heart, to congratulate others for their wins and feel happy for them, even if one hasn't won the award. Human behaviour is a story in itself and good behaviour makes for a good story.
